A Quiet Week

I've been a bit quiet this week, but then I've been on domestic duties in the wet and wild high country of Victoria.  My 4 weekly visit for cooking cleaning and shopping etc etc is once again over and it's back to work ....and boy was it wet!  Floods everywhere and all the dry creeks and rivers are once again flowing.  It's truly spectacular and a tribute to nature to try and fix it green again.

We went for a drive to check out the state of the local waterfalls.......

Loddon Falls near Glenlyon (Spa Country Victoria) at the weekend

Loddon Falls earlier this year

.......and at Trentham, not far from Daylesford, the Coliban River was making a statement and a half!

Trentham Falls at the weekend

The roar of the water was magic!

Then we went to lunch at Gav's Tav at Trentham - a lovely arty little village about an hour north of Melbourne and not far from our Victorian miner's cottage.  The Cool Country Tavern serves beaut meals and beverages - large plates and scrumptious food - in a warm and vibrant atmosphere.  We didn't stay for the live music on Sunday arvo as we needed a sleep after the huge meal Gav brought out to us.  thanks Gav & Tracey !

Princess Anna - BFF

Coming home from Bendigo on the boat (Spirit of Tasmania) I shared with a lovely lady who was coming over to plunder our vintage and market shops.  Anna has a penchant for all things pre-loved and has a couple of Ebay Shops to stock.  (Check out Rubenesk).  Anna was a delight and I lunched with her on her return journey to the boat this last week.  Thanks Anna !  The poor little Honda was packed to the gunwales with lots of fantastic stuff - including a manequin bust strapped into the passenger's seat -  and I believe a successful and enjoyable trip was had.

Spinning K !

I'm off to Kaye and Will's for lunch Sunday - haven't seen them for ages so that will be lovely.  I will take some good Pino G to share.

Guess what ?...Kaye's got herself a spinning wheel and is learning to make fibre.  How wonderful!!!  I can't wait to see what she's up to.

Where has the week gone ?

Started new job at Pirtek (great so far guys), got some superfine mill-spun merino (soooo beautiful - thank you Eric!) and wove a scarf with a beautiful pattern wot I made up, wove one half of a serape/ruana/tunicy wrappy thing (whatever you want to call it, it's exciting because it's a complete garment, not an "accessory") - I just have to do the other side (and I'll be using some of Trace's beautiful buttons on it!), attended my daughter's 29th birthday party (beaut food, shame about the service and the attitude of mine hostess at the swanky caf), went out for dinner @ the Levee (yummy, tasty, good company eh Norma ?), had Lalu and Fergus to sleep over, took Mum shopping, did a day for Steve and the guys @ Paneltec, finished Georgie's Sparkles scarf for her birthday, did some housework (I actually vacuumed and cleaned bathroom) and finished a novel and wove another scarf for the Winter Catalogue.  Whew !!!!!

Too busy to take piccies, but if you look at Shazza's Owl Tea Cozy below, he's gone to live at Oatlands in The Shed ! http://www.duskyforge.com.au/  Lalu's late birthday pressie!  I reckon he'll be very happy.
