About this blog

A blog about the meanderings of a craft designer and hand maker living in a beautiful island at the end of the earth....I'm a weaver addicted to her little Ashford Knitters Loom, a crocheter, knitter, painter, gardener and grandma. Rowena lives in Tasmania - a world apart, not a world away!

It's almost Christmas !

The June Longweekend over and the Shortest Day soon...where is the year going to?    The hours fly and so does the shuttle!  I have been weaving some absolutely gorgeous fine merino mill spun yarn and playing with patterns on my little AKL.  It makes me feel like getting a bigger one with more shuttles (tempted by Ashford's new table loom) but no she says...just keep going with what you have.  There are just SO MANY variations that the rigid heddle can do and I want to learn them first!

A foray into felting worked! My lovely corriedale from Victoria is now a garment - serape, ruiana, sleeveless jacket...whateva!...but I need to finfish the edges and pop on the button.

Waiting for the list of stallholders for August Niche before I decide which/what/where.

I MUST download some piccies...............
...........................trying out the new templates!  Do you like it ?
